Our art programs act as a wonderful introduction to the creative power of art, and how the children can apply the creative process throughout their life. All our artwork is done on canvas and objects are used to make a collage using mixed media, watercolors, and acrylic paints. The child follows guided instructions while learning to work on the details, developing focus, hand-eye coordination, problem-solving skills and building confidence and self-esteem.

Ms. Zasio, innovation teacher, has been with FAST over 4 years. She will be helping the scholars get this club started up for competition. Student will be able to do scrimmages, competition, & build robots. Students will also have support from other team members in operating the robots. Students will also go compete against other school in the First Robotics League.

IVY BRIDGE ACADEMY: PUBLIC SPEAKING & DEBATE

Grades: 3rd – 8th

Ivy Bridge Academy’s After-School Public Speaking & Debate program offers a chance for students to learn techniques of public speaking and engage with current events through the activity of debate. Students enhance their research skills, critical thinking, organizational skills, persuasion tactics, and information processing by learning about both sides of an issue and being able to persuasively argue for either side.

The practice of debate helps students improve their ability to form balanced, informed arguments and to use reasoning and evidence. Students who participate in our program will leave with a sense of accomplishment and a skill set that will help them in academics and their future careers.

Students will learn how to write, shoot and edit their own short films. Students will also learn about the history of filmmaking with Mr. Starr. Each session students will get to learn about specific details about lighting, sound, writing, directing and editing. At the end of the year students will get to show their work to FAST in the school’s first ever film festival!

THE LITTLE YOGIS YOGA, MOVEMENT & MINDFULNESS CLUB

Little Yogis of Roswell is much more than a kids yoga class! We encourage self-expression through movement, creativity. We create a social environment that feels like a little home away from home helps kids find their voice, celebrates differences and encourages peer and social connection through yoga activities, breathwork, stretching, poses, etc. The Little Yogis Program is a fun club where movement and social bonding is a whole mood. It’s a no flex zone, safe space of being your real and authentic self, building self esteem— “it’s giving rizz”, and each student will feel a total “glow up” with their new yogi squad. The Astros Cheer Team/Club will be led by Coach Vlugt & Coach Austin, who has been cheering for over 10 years from recreational all the way up to collegiate. Sessions will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays. 3:45 Pm – 5:30 Pm. This club will consist of cheerleaders learning cheers/chants, tumbling, and proper cheer etiquette for their future endeavors. CHESS ATLANTA CHESS GROUPS BASED ON SKILL LEVEL

International chess champion, Carlos Perdomo offers students instruction based on individual skill level in a fun, yet structured environment. Students learn effective tactics, how to use a chess clock, how to play against a computer, chess puzzles, etc. Students have the opportunity to play in local tournaments: Standard Chess, Bughouse (team chess), and Blitz (speed chess)! Awards are given for Class Champion, Most Improved, and Sportsmanship. All students build a sense of motivation and accomplishment.

Spring 2025: EXPERIMENTS WITH ELEMENTS
Experiments with Elements is an after-school science enrichment program aimed at children interested in conducting experiments and learning about chemistry. Each class, developed by scientists and educators, includes knowledge development and hands-on learning activities. Every week we cover a new topic, including an introduction to the periodic table (yes, first-graders can learn about the periodic table!), learning how to use scientific tools, experimenting with simple reactions, and understanding the chemistry of slime.

PURPOSEFUL PLAY TINKERGARTEN is an after-school enrichment program that gets kids learning through nature exploration. This fall, our lessons help kids develop focus. The curriculum is designed to help kids hone the symphony of skills we use to direct, shift, and sustain our attention, all through playful exploration of nature.

Throughout the series, we’ll leverage the inherently captivating natural world to teach kids building blocks of focus, including: how to feel grounded in the moment; how to zoom in and zoom out; how to wonder; and how to follow our interests.

Was your child born to be a star? Come join the fun and singing, dancing and acting into the hearts of
the audience! Student will perform songs, dances and scenes from musicals such as Newsies, Wicked,
and Grease! Classes will also incorporate popular improvisational acting games to foster creativity and
confidence! This is the perfect outlet for both the extrovert to express creativity, and the more reserved
student to build confidence through public speaking, in an encouraging and positive environment. A
performance will be held on the last day of class for family and friends!
